Your first harvest will come in early July from mid-April plantings, with successive harvests continuing through late October from later sowings. With 75-day varieties, you can track back from when you planted to estimate harvest time, though our cool nights might extend that slightly.

Look for silks that have turned brown and dried, but check the actual kernels to be sure. Pull back the husk slightly and press a kernel with your thumbnail β€” ripe corn will squirt a milky juice. Clear juice means it's not ready yet, while thick or absent juice means you've waited too long.

Harvest by grasping the ear firmly and twisting downward while pulling β€” the ear should snap off cleanly. Corn doesn't continue ripening once picked, so timing is everything. Pick in the early morning when sugars are at their peak.
