🌱 Starting Seeds Indoors

Starting Sage indoors gives you a head start, especially if you're after an earlier harvest. Begin in late February through mid March, about six weeks before you plan to transplant outdoors. Use seed trays with a good seed-starting mix, provide consistent warmth (a heat mat helps), and ensure plenty of light with grow lights.

Bottom watering is key to prevent damping off: set the tray in a shallow dish of water and let the soil absorb it from the bottom. Given our overcast spring days, supplemental light will encourage strong seedling growth.
